Product Description:
The Sikh religion has a following of over 20 million people worldwide, and is ranked as the world's fifth largest religion. However, events such as the verbal and physical attacks on Sikhs just after September 11, where Sikhs were being mistaken for Muslims, suggest that the Sikh faith still remains mysterious to many.

This Very Short Introduction introduces newcomers to the meaning of the Sikh religious tradition, its teachings, practices, rituals and festivals. Eleanor Nesbitt highlights and contextualizes the key threads in the history of Sikhism, from the first Gurus to martyrdom, militarization, and the increasingly significant diaspora. Examining gender, caste, and the changes that are currently underway in the faith, Nesbitt considers contemporary Sikh identities and their role in our world.

ABOUT THE SERIES: The Very Short Introductions series from Oxford University Press contains hundreds of titles in almost every subject area. These pocket-sized books are the perfect way to get ahead in a new subject quickly. Our expert authors combine facts, analysis, perspective, new ideas, and enthusiasm to make interesting and challenging topics highly readable.

Product Description:

Almost from the moment, some five centuries ago, that their religion was founded in the Punjab by Guru Nanak, Sikhs have enjoyed a distinctive identity. This sense of difference, forged during Sikhism's fierce struggles with the Mughal Empire, is still symbolised by the 'Five Ks' ('panj kakar', in Punjabi), those articles of faith to which all baptised Sikhs subscribe: uncut hair bound in a turban; comb; special undergarment; iron bracelet and dagger (or kirpan) - the unique marks of the Sikh military fraternity (the word Sikh means 'disciple' in Punjabi). Yet for all its ongoing attachment to the religious symbols that have helped set it apart from neighbouring faiths in South Asia, Sikhism amounts to far more than just signs or externals. Now the world's fifth largest religion, with a significant diaspora especially in Britain and North America, this remarkable monotheistic tradition commands the allegiance of 25 million people, and is a global phenomenon. In her balanced appraisal, Nikky-Guninder Kaur Singh reviews the history, theology and worship of a community poised between reconciling its hereditary creeds and certainties with the fast-paced pressures of modernity.
She outlines and explains the core Sikh beliefs, and explores the writings and teachings of the Ten Sikh Gurus in Sikhism's Holy Scriptures, the Sri Guru Granth Sahib (more usually called just the 'Granth'). Further chapters explore Sikh ethics, art and architecture, and matters of gender and the place of women in the tradition. The book attractively combines the warm empathy of a Sikh with the objective insights and acute perspectives of a prominent scholar of religion.

Product Description:

Explore the life of a great spiritual leader―and walk the peaceful path toward God-realization.

Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism, was born during a period of political and religious turmoil in India in the fifteenth century. Tension between Hindus and Muslims had escalated, leading to greater polarization of the two religions. By establishing Sikhism, Nanak created a synthesis of Hinduism and Islam with the belief that God is One. He advocated a casteless society based on truth, unity and equality.

During his twenty-three years of traveling he taught not only in India but also in Tibet, Ceylon (Sri Lanka) and in the area of the present-day countries of Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Iran, preaching the truth as he perceived it and showing humankind the path to salvation. Highlighting his quest for tolerance and compassion, this fascinating biography tells the story of a unique spiritual leader who showed a gentle, peaceful path to realizing God.

Admired, loved and respected even in his lifetime, Guru Nanak continues to command admiration and respect five hundred years after he lived, with his lasting universal message of Absolute Unity more urgent and necessary than ever before.

FIRST GNOSTIC PRINCIPLES OF ONE GOD ONE FAITH: Gnostic Christianity, Sikhism and Islam

Product Description:
GOSPEL TREASURES BY GRACE.
The whole Book is written by the power of my companion “holy spirit”, the spirit of man called “common sense” or Surtti. Whereas the Very Spirit of our Father is called “Holy Spirit”, Extra Ordinary Sense that John, the Baptist, the Last Prophet and Jesus, the Very Son of God possessed on conception. That made Them the “Spiritual Cousins” and not Mary and Elizabeth of different tribes. When the Twelve Inner Circle Labourers were Rewarded “Holy Spirit” by our Father at Pentecost, then all of Them became the Twin-Brethren of Jesus in Spirit. Thus, there was no Prophet after John, the Baptist (Luke 16v16) that dealt with Moral Laws or Shariah. The very sons of our Father called Saints or Bhagats urged people to seek the Royal Kingdom of God by worshipping our Father in truth and in spirit. Our Father lives in His Temple, which is our physical body and this is called “Emmanuel”. St. Peter was given the Key to the kingdom of heaven that the Rabbis used to possess and He killed two liars Anais and Saphira for telling lies. That is, you cannot build the Temple of God on a foundation of lies, the sand. Truth is the solid rock.
Transgression against the moral laws is “sin” whilst against the Holy Spirit is blasphemy, Kufur or KOORR. Thus, Angel John, the Baptist died fighting against the sinners whilst Jesus was killed by the blasphemers or hypocrites. As moral laws are made by men and so, the men can forgive them but not the blasphemy. Blasphemy is exposed through Gospel and the powerful hypocrites, the sons of the highest Satan Al-Djmar Al-Aksa are the staunch enemies of Saints.
Now, Gospel is buried in the Scriptures, the dead letters but you need a tool to dig them out. And this Tool is "logical reasoning" called "Satgur" in Punjabi. This logical reasoning also called "intuition" is to be done by the individual person and the End Product is called "Logos" or His Word. Thus, no one can give you Gospel but you have to strive. Jesus picked up Twelve Labourers for the Vineyard of our Father that has Narrow Gate for the Solitary. Of these Simon nick named Peter for being a once-born "hylic" could not understand Gospel but he was truthful. Truth is the Foundation Rock over which the Temple of God within our own hearts is to be erected for Christ, the Royal Priest to Preach Gospel with authority to others like a Sower. That is why Gospel cannot be written down in ink on paper but over the living Tablets of hearts. Gospel Treasures rest where our heart is and no one can steal from you. More you Preach Gospel, more is given to you.
You need to be twice-born of spirit, "common sense" called "Surtti" in Punjabi to receive Gospel. This is received by grace of our Father and when it is misused to cheat people as the "psychic" hireling Dog-Collared Priests in Churches and politicians do, then it is called "Evil spirit" in which people suffer as you see them today but when the gift is used to worship God in truth and in spirit with an impartial righteous child-like heart, it is called "holy spirit" and when you are fully devoted to God, then you are a "pneumatic" possessing "holy ghost", a wise man from whom two are frightened as of a ghost. Such pneumatic persons, male or female, being sealed to serve God are called the sons of Most High, our Supernatural Father of our supernatural souls that have no colour or gender.
Judas Iscariot, a twice-born "psychic" used to steal money from the purse as these "hireling" Dog-Collared Priests in Churches do from the Church donations as their salaries. Remember that our Father God is Mammon Free and His Payment to His Labourers/Workers is in Gospel Treasures. So, if you want payment in Gospel Treasures, then do not accept money of the Mammon and become his slave. We the "pneumatic" sons of most High being His sons, the Royal Priests, are always welcome into the House of our Father and He enjoys His Stay in our Temple of God that is free of greed. That is why Judas Iscariot
